Kiln Control Studio
Privacy Policy
Kiln Control Studio is the firing bench in your pocket — cone charts, ramp schedules, soak timers, and kiln-side notes on iPhone. This page explains what the app may access, what stays in your studio log, and what we never pass to clay advertisers or habit-data brokers.
Last updated August 26, 2026
- Fire without an account Build schedules and log cones on your device — no signup for core tools.
- Studio notes stay private Clay bodies, glaze recipes, and heat-work memos are not mined for ads.
- No sale of firing history We do not sell, rent, or trade your kiln patterns with third parties.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Kiln Control Studio mobile app on the Apple App Store and to public pages hosted on this domain. It is written for potters and kiln keepers using the app and for visitors reading this page.
Information
Kiln Control Studio does not require your legal name, email, phone, studio address, or payment card for core firing tools.
Schedule names, cone targets, soak times, and kiln notes you enter remain for your in-app workflow. We do not reuse them for targeted advertising or resale.
Remote content
When the app opens optional public material — for example a linked cone chart — it may load that content from a public URL. Those pages are generic; nothing from your private firing log is sent upstream.
Camera & photos
If you photograph a kiln shelf or attach a glaze test, Kiln Control Studio may request camera or photo library access only when you choose to capture. Contacts and precise location stay unused unless a future feature clearly needs them and this policy is updated.
Device
Firing sessions and notes stay in on-device storage. Diagnostics you voluntarily share with Apple follow Apple’s privacy terms.
Hosting
Infrastructure partners operate this policy page and any public routes on this domain. They may retain traffic logs needed for security and uptime under their own practices.
Minors
Kiln Control Studio is meant for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contact App Store support if a minor saved data by mistake and we will help clear it where we can.
Retention & security
Logs you keep in Kiln Control Studio remain under your control on your device. Delete firings in-app or uninstall to wipe local storage.
We apply reasonable safeguards to hosted assets. No service is perfectly secure — treat kiln notes like a locked studio journal, not a public gallery wall.
Your choices
Leave Kiln Control Studio whenever you choose. Revoke camera, photo, or network access in iOS Settings for an offline firing pad where supported.
Updates
We may revise this policy as Kiln Control Studio evolves. The date above marks substantive changes. Continued use after an update accepts the new terms where law permits.
Contact
Privacy questions about Kiln Control Studio may be sent through the App Store support channel or the developer contact on the product page.
